More than 500,000 jobs were cut in November alone. As layoffs continue, new claims for unemployment benefits are rising across the country. The rates we are witnessing now are the highest since 1982.

According to AAA Mid-Atlantic, the Philadelphia area witnessed another decline in gas prices this past weekend. Today, in five Philadelphia counties, gas prices are down an average 2 cents. Diesel in Philadelphia is down approximately 4 cents as well.

Philadelphia’s housing market is witnessing a serious decline in home sales.
Following October 2008’s not-so-bright financial news, there are new reports that Philadelphia’s real estate sale agreements have fallen 20% throughout eight counties.
According to Steve Storti, VP of Prudential Fox Roach, Inc, “Until the credit market unfreezes, regional real estate will be slow.”

Gas and oil prices continue to creep downward. Oil is trading at a low $43 per barrel.
According to AAA Atlantic, today in Philadelphia regular unleaded gas is averaging $1.86 per gallon. South Jersey gas prices are even lower, averaging $1.58 per gallon.
